Be The Bigger Person

There’s a secret someone calling to you.  Many adults sense their lives are off-kilter.  Not only are things missing in their life, there are gaping holes.  It can occur as a need to refinance, or get in shape, or change careers.  Vote in a new government administration.  If changes are made and the nagging persists, your natural problem-solving may suspect the big picture itself as wrong.  You took the wrong turnoff somewhere.

Dreams about it haunt you.  Maybe you shop it away at Nordstroms or The Outdoor Store.  If you permit absolutes in your life, it may seem destiny itself eludes you.  Harry Potter discovered his greatness, even if he had to pick his way past a lot of muggles, why can’t you?

With God in your life, at some point you discover your destiny is far better than you expected.  Than you can imagine, actually.  It turns out that he knew you before time even began.  He cared and got excited enough to write your whole life in a book—that is, the general profile and purposes of your life (Psalm 139:16).   He etched down incredible things only a God could think of.

Then he shut the book.

You have to open it.

How?  It starts with prayer, where you discover you are a multi-dimensional being.  Not exactly a changeling left on a doorstep, but so much of the sci-fi stuff about alternate realms is true.  You occupy Earth, yes, but since Heaven overlaps with Earth, you impact that realm, too.  You can be legally and spiritually present up there.  The Bible says God’s followers are seated in Heavenly realms with Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6).  It’s expressed in the present tense.  In real time.

Going there is done by faith.  You won’t necessarily feel anything.  In a vision, you might take a right at Righteousness Road and pass the Crystal Sea, and many report wonders, but such things are rare.  The place any lay person can go is the Courts of Heaven, where the books of destinies are open.  (Daniel 7:10)

There really are Courts of Heaven.  There is a book with your purposes written in it.  You can get a sense of them by gathering together everything God has ever told you about your life and writing it down.  If you’ve never heard anything, accept Salvation through Jesus and get him to talk.

How is that done?  Ask him to tell you and stick with it.  Impressions will come from the inside.  Then add to that anything good influential people in your life have said about you, like from your mother or friend or priest.  Details from your heavenly book will grow clearer.

For further elucidation, try the teachings of the Christian minister Robert Henderson.  He has a six part series on the Courts of Heaven on Youtube.  It’s worth looking into.

Maybe you feel too old to reach your purpose.  That not true.  God figures time much differently than we do.  For him a thousand years is like a day (2 Peter 3:8).  I’m in my 50’s now, and by his math, I’m around an hour and a half old.  That buys me a little time.  In eternal terms I’m not even a toddler yet.

And God is never wrong—about the nature of time, your destiny, or anything else.  His math is always the crucial one.  Amazing possibilities wait for you, if you grab hold.  To repeat, His reality is always far bigger and better than you expected.  How else, if he created a universe as vast as the one you walk around in.

Thinking like that starts to stretch you.  Maybe it gets painful, but you are growing towards God’s way of looking at things.  And this causes the problems in your life to look much smaller.  You’re becoming the bigger person.

You’re enormously significant to God.  Every attempt to stretch into the immensity of his reality will make you a bigger and better person.

The potential within you would never fit into even a long lifespan.  Start to clue into your eternity.  It will secure things up there and improve things down here.  If you never believed in eternity, pull off the blinders.  It matters more than anything that fits in your Dayplanner.

The biggest tragedy in life is people walking around not knowing they’re eternal.  So much hinges on your choices and this error make your other decisions like rolling the dice.  It cheapens your life on a huge scale.

Don’t make this life mean everything or you’ll turn it into nothing.  We wish the dead to Rest In Peace and flatter ourselves that are earthly struggle is the starring attraction.  But R.I.P. is a scam from dark spirits who hate you with every fiber of their being.  It’s also a way to tell ourselves we don’t have to grapple with greatness.

But we do.  Look it up in the Bible.  You don’t go to bed after this life, you’re going to feel either really good or really bad.  Many who undergo Afterdeath experiences describe the sensations as “ten times more intense”.  And whichever feeling you get never ends.
